Lets Take A Day To Have All The Goodness We Wish For

Pretend today
Is one like every other day

Peaceful

Quiet

Joy filled

How else would you wish to spend your time than that?

What is it you look for
When you imagine the life you wish to lead?

What is it you hope for
For yourself
And those you love?

What are you willing to give up
To have that life you dream of?

Or is it a matter of giving up?

Lets take a day,
One day,
To have all the goodness we wish for

What harm could there be
In one day?

I can’t imagine there could be trouble there

Can you?

Now, how about one more

And another

Again

Endlessly onward
One glorious day at a time

We all need the promise of that

Don’t you agree?

Lets reach for that
     And if we find
          That only one in three of those days
               Turns out to be worth remembering…

Couldn’t we celebrate that all the same?

I’d like to imagine we could

I’m going to hope for that,
Dear heart

I’m going to put my peas
In that pot

And start them cooking
