Welcome to this story about Jax, the dog. His owner Amanda reached out to see if he would communicate through me to her. At first I felt a resistance only to discover Amanda had tried this once before and been very disappointed. The Medium was not able to relay anything of substance. Amanda was hopeful, but a little skeptical.

Amanda and I worked together to find away past the barrier. I suggested some exercises she might do including simple visualizations, quiet meditative thoughts, speaking to Jax for his permission among other things. Within a few days, an exceptional, light-filled connection was forged. Jax had a great deal to share!

Thoughts don’t have a language. When a child is born, they develop the language of the ones who speak to them. But, before children learn to speak, they most certainly have thoughts. The same applies to animals.

I don’t speak dog; I listen to thoughts.

I am in no need of details during readings, asking on the dog and the owner’s names, plus perhaps a question the owner may have, as long as it doesn’t go to great lengths about the current situation. I want the pet to have full charge of giving evidence, not have it report back what the owner has already told me. With only a name (no picture) and a simple question, Jax shared the following information.

I see a lab-sized dog lying down facing away from me. He has rich, thick, golden coloured fur.

This beautiful dog lies on one side with a soft cloth toy in his mouth. He says it is easy on his teeth. I watch him toss it in the air. It lands gently on his face.

I feel as though a great effort is needed to accomplish everything and hear Jax share (a synthesized version of) the following thoughts.

“I am tired now, as you can see. I have always been slow, but now I am tired. There is a vital difference between the two. One holds intention and determination to do more, live more, and love more. The other seeks rest.

“You see me here lying on my side. I lift my head and wave with one paw. It is a comfort to be near you, as always.

“We have been together these seven years, plus two…

“Hold your head high as someone who has done an exemplary job of loving care. We choose our humans well. There was no doubt for me you were the one. I knew it the moment we met. I know you felt the same.”

While the above sentiments are beautiful, I want hard evidence that it is Jax I am speaking to. I ask quite intensely for Jax to offer facts.

He shows me a small blue jacket or rectangular blanket that Amanda lays on him when he goes to sleep.

I keep seeing him lying on one side, waving with one front leg or paw.

I get the sense he is a mixed breed. I see the shoulder and front leg that are golden. I also see white under the chin and a tail that curls upward. There is also white underneath the tail, which appears to have fan-like feather-ish tail fur.

I get a sense a Frisbee might have been offered to Jax in the past, but the game of fetch doesn’t seem to apply. On the other hand, I sense that he may have been a dog that would bring Amanda gifts like something a cat might do.

Now, I see Jax walking ahead of me on a sunlit trail. He seems to prance — a very distinct, dressage-like bounce.

Jax indicates that he is waiting for permission to race off ahead. He won’t go until Amanda permits him to go. He’s excited to see what’s ahead. In his mind, he has his head down enjoying the smells, the soft grass on his paws, the warmth of the light on his shoulders. I sense a joyful anticipation.

At this point, Jax shares a personal message with Amanda that is not evidence-based. As such, I will leave that out and hit you up with Amanda’s response. I wonder how you will receive it?

Amanda confirms the following.

  1. Jax has been my best friend for 9 years, and I love him more than anything. (He was paralyzed in an accident in 2023. 7 + 2. )
  2. Jax only ever lies on one side, and he does paw and wave at us. All the time.
  3. He sleeps on a blue rectangle blanket every night.
  4. He loved to play with a Frisbee, but the funny thing is that he would NEVER bring it back to me. He always played with it and threw it around to himself, but fetch was never his game. He used to do that with stuffies, too.
  5. He loves soft toys. He sucks on them and grinds them between his teeth until they are falling apart, and I must take them away.
  6. He’s been my best friend since the second we met. He came from a bad home before me, and when I brought him into my lap in the car the first night, he melted into me and felt safe for the first time.
  7. I remember him having a soft stone once in his mouth one time, but I can’t remember if I ever kept it or where it would be now. I will look for signs of him when I’m walking in his favourite places.
  8. You mentioned his tail curling up and being feathery. This is so accurate. His big fan of a tail was one of my most favourite things about him. His tail hasn’t been up since his accident and injury to his spine.
  9. When I picture him prancing around with a lightness and bounce to him, his tail is up and curled and happy. You were bang on with that description of his walk.
  10. He does have this beautiful soft white under his chin and neck. And he is a beautiful red golden in his shoulders and chest and arms.
  11. I’m happy to know he felt the same: that we were soulmates from the start. I’ve always had a very special bond with him. He doesn’t like the company of many people, but he has been my shadow, always loyal and so obedient. Even after his accident. He always pushed through to make me happy. He’s been very strong.

I will let him go to a better place where he can run free in the grass again. And I look forward to his little tricks to show me he’s still here.

Thank you for everything. This was truly so beautiful, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity to connect with him.

With much love and gratitude,
Amanda & Jax
