I count the years of patience you gave me
As I sat inside these walls
Too afraid to look out into the world

     “Don’t ask me to change,”
          I said,

               “I like it in here.”

             And you waited . . .

“Can’t you see me?”
     I wondered
“Pressed between these walls so tight

You’d wonder how I got here

          And so I’ll tell you . . .

                    I grew up in here

I grew into the space
     Until the size of me
          Filled the space to bursting
               And still…

You let me have my time without question

And now,
     With wall exploded
          Crumbled into a thousand pieces
               A million pieces

                    To dust, in fact

               No,

                    Less than dust!

     With no walls left
               Where does that leave me?

Illuminated

          Suffused in light

     Green
          Luminescent
               Light of
                    Life

I’m standing tall
     In the light of life
Because you chose to love me
               Without end

You chose to love me without end
          Without (From the) beginning
               And on
                    Into the millennia

To the expanses of the universe
With all its time and space
          Enough to fill it all
With me in the midst of it

All the way up to this very moment in time

And I thank you for it

Allow me to thank you for it”

                         Amen ~
