I’d like to talk about the idea of Peace
It’s this way today
Wishing for a lifetime of peace
Is unrealistic
How could you know you’d found peace
Had you not strayed from its arms long enough
To miss the essence of it?
We wouldn’t know what peace was
Had we not also experienced the lack of it
There is truth
In the loss of it
That registers far more profoundly
When experienced
Than we could hope to comprehend
Had someone merely suggested it to us
“Why this lesson?” you ask?
Why do so many of us
Find ourselves searching with such longing
For this sense of ease?
Why do so many resonate
With this sense of loss?
I can tell you one thing
The relief for all is palpable
Even if we catch it only
In the blink of an eye
A flicker
A question
Was that it?
Did I find it?
Is that what peace is?
Did I know it?
Trust yourself
Allow in the truth that
You will know peace again
Before long
It’s only a matter of time
Be at peace
Be at one with it
