On the day I commit to offer animal spirit connections through social media an unexpected spirit appears in my vision space.
It happens.
He’s been with me a couple of weeks now.
This gentleman in spirit is happy to sit quietly in the background waiting for the event and I am happy to acknowledge his presence without calling him forward.
Still. Here he sits.
Last night I couldn’t sleep. So much on my mind. I notice the gentleman in spirit close by so decide to ask a few questions. Like:
Why does his posture remind me of Rodin’s ‘The Thinker’?
Why does he reach for a pen in his left pocket but not always find one?
How intriguing that there are always things he wants to write down, to remember, yet doesn’t always carry the tools he needs to do so…
The gentleman reveals he is proud of his mind. He wants me to understand this truth. He enjoys contemplating situations and finding solutions to challenges, then jots things down. If he doesn’t have a pen and paper he’ll use whatever is handy: a napkin, the back of his hand, even the knee of his trousers, he laughs.
His pants are white after all.
In fact, his slacks and shirt are both white, and isn’t that interesting in itself? Is there significance to white clothing?
Sometimes, he says, he might simply write a joke he wants to share… He has a good although somewhat dry sense of humour…
What of his surroundings? I pan back to view the place he sits. A garden area with small brick patio.
Is he perched on the edge of a bench with a small round table in front of him?
I see a thin strip of thick green grass between the patio and a pond or lake? A body of water has significance, perhaps.
How glorious! A large white swan swims toward shore. The gentleman in spirit helps me understand he has no interest whatsoever in feeding the swan, or inviting it toward shore. However, ask him to consider its beauty, or the mechanics that allow such a large bird to fly! Now this he has time to contemplate!
I watch as he considers the massive white wings as the swan readies itself to fly. This he finds great interest in. We will want to look up swan spirit medicine as part of the information sharing.
With my focus back on the man in thinker pose I note again a brilliant light near his head. If this is the sun shining down, why is he not wearing a hat?
Is this sunlight?
The light seems so close. Almost as though it resonates from a place immediately beside him. I open my heart to listen into the warmth of the light––its brilliant nature. Oh, wow! There is a woman standing at his shoulder!
The woman, suffused in love and light, small in stature, gentle in nature, is older than he by some age. I have a knowing that she is the gentleman’s mother. She doesn’t seem to be very tall in stature because standing full height here, she doesn’t come much past his shoulder as he sits. What a glorious smile she shares with me now, to be seen standing here with her son, while also in spirit.
Curiosity satiated, I step back and thank the two for revealing themselves to me. Grateful for their trust in me to see and relay their presence. Now to all of you.
Do you recognize the scene? The sentiment? The pair in spirit? Do let me know. I would love to put a name to these beautiful souls.
With love,
Catherine ~
UPDATE! The Thinker’s Family Found!
On the day this post was placed I received the following message. With permission, I share it with you.
“Hi Catherine,
I just read your post about the Thinker and I think he sounds like my Uncle. I came to that conclusion even before I finished reading your post. What you’ve written resonates.
I asked my mother about the various elements you describe, and she verified most of them.
Like that he is a thinker; that he is always thinking and working on solutions to challenges that he sees around him–– not just in his field of expertise but also in others as well, like Chinese dictionaries, or how to maximize the use of pen and paper during WWII when they were scarce.
She remembers him teaching her and the younger siblings, ways to stretch the use of paper, pen & pencils during that time.
He always wore white – yes trousers and shirt. If you look at his old photos, that’s how he is dressed!
The brick patio and water? Mother recognizes the scene as the garden and patio in their old house.
He was very close to his mother, my grandma, who was all love and smiles.
My Grandma was fairly short. She was not too much older than him, as well. She was around 18 or 19 when she had him.
Mom can’t connect the swan though – but if it was to demonstrate how he is not interested in feeding it but marvelling at its wings and what it can do, that certainly sounds like my Uncle. (Exactly right)
The interesting thing was, when I brought up the descriptions to my mom, I did not tell her the context in which I was raising it. She knew nothing about your post, until she had said it sounds like her brother, my uncle. So amazing.
My Mom brought up the idea of the stationery and pens without me saying anything about your vision. How uncanny, right?”
~
As often happens when relaying a story received prior to connecting to the recipient, the spirits in this communication stepped forward again to chime in during our discussion! Reaching out to the spirits in my vision to ask for confirmation I witness ‘Uncle’ continuing in his ‘Thinker’ stance.
Grandma, however, now looks directly at me as though she can see ME.
Her smile is gigantic and the light she shines expands out in all directions to a much greater degree than originally, if this is even possible.
I see Grandma smiling through my heart beyond to her Granddaughter, with such love and devotion I literally have tears in my eyes.
Thank you, Spirit, for reaching out through me to share a warm and loving hello from Uncle and Grandma in spirit.
We are not surprised that today is Uncle’s Birthday.
It all makes so much sense, that these two loving souls would choose this moment to send their greetings.
With love,
Catherine ~
