Working with the spirit world is always good for a heartfelt giggle. I have been working on a book I am getting ready to publish later this year about a spirit I met at a local pub. As part of my interaction with the young spirit, not one but two guardian spirits stepped forward to encourage me to write this story. One guardian spirit was the beautiful soul in this image. An Indigenous woman named Humishuma, aka Mourning Dove.

Among a great many wonderful things this exceptional soul did in her lifetime of advocating for First Nations Peoples was her coup at being cited as the First Native American woman to publish a book from the First Nations perspective. This book was titled Cogawea. Today, I was reading a second book she is famous for, titled Coyote Stories in which she shares stories told in traditional Indigenous fashion.

The delightful sequence of coincidences I found today are these:

  1. I haven’t picked this book up for several years.
  2. I have been working hard over the past several weeks finalizing the manuscript on the story I am writing that describes the author of Coyote Stories, Mourning Dove, as a guardian spirit.
  3. Since Mourning Dove appeared in my visions I have been trying to find a direct connection with her to the spirit in my story, whom I call White Dove.
  4. The story I opened the book to and read today centres around a specific location called ‘Square Butte’ in Cascade County, Montana. Mourning Dove is said to have frequented this location.
  5. An End note to this particular story by Mourning Dove names a date, June 13, 1805, when the second guardian spirit in my story is said to have passed!

Today I found a connection between the two guardian spirits in my story, who came together to help the young spirit in our local pub bring her story to me to be published.

My life is magical. I am so blessed to be a witness to the miracles that keep unfolding as an encouragement to publish this Novellette.

Can’t wait to tell you more. Stay tuned!

With love,
Catherine ~
