Understanding Spiritual Experiences

The world of Spirit is rich and sometimes mysterious. This glossary offers some of the ways I experience and work with Spirit, shared to give context and insight as you explore the stories, messages, and articles on this site. Perhaps these explanations will help you recognize, name, or better understand your own personal experiences along the way.

States of Consciousness & Altered Awareness

  • Alpha Trance – The ability to enter an altered state in order to access other dimensions of reality.

  • Astral Projection – The ability of the spirit to leave the body at will or through the dream state.

  • Meditation – The art of closing the body awareness and the personality mind down to be one with Spirit.

  • Morphing – The ability to move from normal to paranormal dimensions and back at will.

  • Blending – The ability to shape-shift or merge one’s ethereal body with another being to experience the world as they do, understanding their thoughts and intentions.

Spirit Communication & Mediumship

  • Mediumship – The ability to connect directly with the spirits of the living and those who have moved beyond their physical experience in two-way communication.

  • Psychic Medium – A psychic skilled at communicating with those who have passed.

  • Conscious and Trance Channeling – The ability to receive and relay information or guidance from spirits through various mediumship abilities.

  • Telepathy – The ability to intuitively sense or “hear” the thoughts, emotions, and energy of another person, even from a distance.

  • Remote Viewing – The ability to see places, situations, or people at a distance.

Clair Abilities

  • Clairvoyant (Clear Vision) – The ability to perceive “within the mind’s eye” something existing in another vibrational frequency.

  • Clairaudience (Clear Hearing) – The ability to hear information not accessible to the five physical senses, such as words, tones, or sounds from the spiritual or ethereal realm. These perceptions occur “internally” and beyond ordinary time and space, and may be received more easily in meditation or an alpha state.

  • Clairsentience (Clear Sensation or Feeling) – The ability to sense information physically or energetically beyond the five physical senses, experiencing impressions as feelings within the whole body without any external stimuli.

  • Claircognizance (Clear-Knowing) – The ability to simply know something without logical reasoning.

  • Clairempathy (Clear Emotion) – The ability to psychically tune in to the emotional experience of a person, place, or animal.

  • Clairtangency (Clear Touch) – The ability to perceive information through touch beyond physical boundaries.

  • Clairscent (Clear Smelling) – The ability to detect fragrances or odors not present in one’s physical surroundings.

Energy & Healing

  • Energetic Healing – Using psychic or life-force energy to diagnose energetic imbalances and channel healing energy with spiritual guidance.

  • Intuitive Perception – The ability to perceive information about people, situations, or events without relying on the physical senses.

  • Medical Intuitive – A psychic or intuitive who perceives information about the human body, its organs, or systems, and may interpret energy imbalances in relation to emotions or life experiences.

Spirit & Phenomena

  • Animal Spirit Communication – Awareness of animal spirits as messengers offering guidance and energy.

  • Apport – The manifestation of physical objects from other dimensions or the Spirit realm.

  • ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) – The perception of energy, information, or experiences beyond the five physical senses.

  • Precognition – Knowledge or awareness of the future obtained through extrasensory perception.

  • Exorcism / Extractions – The removal of inappropriate or harmful spirits or entities through psychic energy.

  • Ghost Busting – Diagnosing and removing negative or inappropriate spirit attachments from people, houses, or buildings.

  • Psychic – A person with ESP, able to perceive information beyond the five physical senses.
