And ride the riverbed

O’er stone and clay

Kick up the moss

And gallop through the forest’s winding trails

Let sweat

And breath

And foaming bit

Be signs of hardships

Borne

With love at its core

Rest only long enough to nourish your bones

Then fly again

Toward the one you love

Don’t let the stars rise again

Across the moonless night

Without her in your arms

Or she with you

Let time do its worst

There is nothing capable

Of keeping you

From knowing each other again

Home at last

The rivers calmed

Tides reversed

Lover’s touch

A starlit dance

Hear that song

A blue,

And gold,

And ivory cup

Filled with boundless joy

Amen

At last ~
